Biography:
Bruce Tomczuk has recently formed the pharmaceutical consulting firm, Chemnomics, LLC. He brings a background in both large pharma as well as small startup company experiences to the table. His diverse skill-set include a broad understanding of Medicinal Chemistry (SBDD, FBDD, SAR, Chemogenomics), Biology (Target ID and Validation, HTS, biochemical and cellular assays, pharmacology models, especially in Inflammatory Diseases, and systems biological approaches), Metabolism (early ADME, Pharmacokinetics, and Pharmaceutical Sciences, especially formulations), and Early toxicology (toxicogenomics).
His professional background has included Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development, where he was a Research Fellow and
the Chemistry Team Leader for the Inflammation and Pulmonary Diseases Team. During 1994-2003, he was the Executive Director of
Chemistry at 3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals, Inc, where he directed the Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Metabolism groups.
Prior to 3-DP, he was a Research Leader at Sterling-Winthrop and a Scientist at A.H. Robins (now Wyeth). Bruce is an inventor
of 47 patents and an author of 30 publications and 36 presentations. His proudest achievements have been the transition of 6 compounds
into Early and Late-stage clinical trials. His external activities include serving on the Board of the Inflammation Research Association
and the Editorial Board of Current Topics in Medicinal Chemistry. He is a seasoned professional in the management of motivated scientific
teams, a skilled presenter of scientific data to upper management, and a great matrixed communicator.
