Ken has had nearly 40 successful years in chemical engineering consulting and contracting. He has been involved with fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals, energy, waste treatment, emission control, fertilizers and a wide range of processes and projects. His earlier experience has included involvement in the nuclear reprocessing industry. His career has covered work in the United States and Europe.
He sees his interests developing in the rapidly developing technologies in the use of biomass for chemicals, fuels and energy. He is associated with the Knowledge Transfer Networks, Bioscience for Business and Chemistry Innovation, in the United Kingdom. He is enthusiastic to follow emerging technologies associated with the production of bio-oils for fuels and other uses from algae, in biomass gasification and pyrolysis, and in biodiesel process development.
Representative projects over the years have included the management of suites of small projects as well as taking a leadership role in larger ones. He has a sound knowledge of process safety analysis techniques. He is also an experienced commissioning engineer.
