Consultant on estrogens for hormone replacement therapies to lawyers, pharmaceutical companies and to diagnostic companies for all hormone and tumour marker assays commonly used in hospital and reference laboratories.

Bio:

I obtained my undergraduate and graduate (biochemistry) degrees from McGill University in Montreal. For eight years,I held the position as Director, Department of Endocrinology and Immunochemistry at Ayerst research laboratories in Montreal and for 16 years Head, endocrinology Laboratory, Queen Elizabeth Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, Nova Scotia. I have been an expert consultant to two multinational pharmaceutical companies on hormone replacement therapies and have made important, scientifically and medically documented presentations to provincial(Ontario, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Nova Scotia) and federal drug and regulatory agencies in Ottawa (Canada) and Bethesda (US). I have authored/co-authored 56 peer reviewed scientific and medical publications, 95 abstracts-presentations and several book chapters in endocrinology. I am an inventor/co-inventor of seven internationally recognized patents in the pharmaceutical industry.

My career has encompassed extensive pharmaceutical research, as laboratory director in a major US multinational drug company and at a major university teaching hospital, a lecturer in clinical chemistry and a facilitator in problem-based learning on a wide range of medical subjects. At retirement, I was Professor of Pathology and Associate Professor of Medicine at Dalhousie University in Halifax.
