Industrial Research Consultant Contract research for various companies in a variety of industries. Developed specialty products for specific applications in Paper, Textile and Non-Woven areas (conventional surfactant-stabilized latices, colloid-stabilized latices, core-shell polymers, graft polymers, solution polymers, cationic latices, hybrid latices, fluoropolymers, resins, modifiers, cross-linking systems, sizes, water-repellents, wax emulsions, fluorochemical emulsions, silicone emulsions), scale-up from lab to plant, reactor design, lab design, PMN applications. Developed a new technology for a client supplying binders for PET fiber roofing mat with less cost, lower add-on and better performance. Developed a UF modifier latex for a client and their customer patented its use in their formulation. Developed a water-based polymer for metal coatings to replace Asian import product. A research project won New Carolina’s 2007 New Business Idea Contest Grand Prize ($3000.00).
