Objective:
To secure a management position in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or allied industries, either in the public or private sector, where I would apply my numerous skills and experience to cost effective solutions to reduce potential liabilities and improve the bottom line.
Experience:
2008-Current: InfoChem Systems, LLC: Independent consultant providing services in chemical management systems, process engineering and hazard analysis, and product stewardship. We can provide training in regulatory environment, DOT Hazard Classification HM-181, and Emergency Response.
2005-2008: Porter Instrument Division: Parker-Hannifin Corporation as the Environmental Health & Safety and Facility Manager. I provided technical support for engineering, Safety training of employees, organized and trained the Fire Brigade, conducted monthly plant safety audits in conjunction with the Safety Committee. I maintained the OSHA log, and filed timely reports with agencies, e.g., EPA and the state and local agencies.
1998-2005: Porter Instrument Company: Developing, implementing, and managing Environmental, Health & Safety programs. Providing technical and engineering support for their Medical/Dental, and Industrial business sectors. Managing outside contractors, maintenance department, other solution providers as the Facility manager.
1996-1997: Geosphere Emergency Response Systems: Provided technical, sales and marketing support for their Plantsafe, TeleSafe, and TrainSafe software for emergency response. Worked as an independent consultant for InfoChem Systems, Inc.
1995-1996: Consolidated Edison of New York: Analyzed, created and developed new business processes for State Pollution Discharge Elimination Systems (SPDES) as part of a court mandated settlement with EPA. ConEdison choose to implement Oracle's Environmental, Health & Safety software product to track and manage their environmental requirements. Worked as an independent consultant for InfoChem Systems, Inc.
1998-1995: Rohm and Haas Company: Corporate Environmental Manager directing the design, development, and implementation of the Versar Environmental Compliance Management System (ECMS) to do quality, benchmarking, and compliance worldwide. Negotiated contracts, managed contractor services, and information professionals working toward implementation at seventeen location in the U. S.. Additional programs included TSCA oversight, acquisitions and divestitures, global environmental costs for SEC 10K reporting and the annual report.
1985-1988: Rohm and Haas Company: Corporate Environmental Manager performing analysis and implementation of HAZCOM, RCRA, SARA, and CERCLA compliance programs. Monitored pollution costs globally for inclusion in the annual report, and SEC 10K reports for 47 plants and locations worldwide.
1981-1985: Rohm and Haas Company: Product Integrity Advisor providing risk, hazard and regulatory management analysis of products, intermediates, and raw materials. Communicated these analyses to workers, customers, government agencies, and community groups. Other programs included TSCA, FIFRA submissions for Agrochemicals to EPA and HAZCOM and HAZWOPER training.
1978-1981: Rohm and Haas Company: Process Advisor Corporate Health and Safety reviewing processes for potential health, safety and environmental impacts on plant personnel and facilities. Provided risk/hazard assessment analysis for these processes and directed the preparation of precautionary literature (MSDS, labels, product literature)to communicate these risks to stakeholders.
1973-1978: Rohm and Haas Company: Chemist Preclinical Research directing the isolation, identification and synthesis of the major metabolites in the development of the metabolic package, as part of the New Drug Application (NDA) for FDA submission of an antipsychotic drug for the treatment of schizophrenia.
1968-1973: Rohm and Haas Company: Chemist Agrochemical Research directing the exploratory syntheisis program toward the discovery and synthesis program new and novel agrochemicals, e.g., biocides, fungicides, and insecticides. Program resulted in the initial identification of an asymmetric triazole with fungicidal activity. Subsequently, a triazole analog was commercialized from this discovery program.
