“Helping Facilities Conserve Resources and Reduce Hazardous Wastes Through Waste Minimization”

Noah Borenstein

Abstract:

EPA Region 3 offers facilities free site visits and other technical assistance to help them identify opportunities to reduce wastes. Companies who have participated in these voluntary visits and implemented waste minimization opportunities have saved millions of dollars and conserved resources through the reduced use of water, electricity, and generation of wastes. Noah will explain the elements of a comprehensive Waste Minimization Program and discuss proven source reduction techniques. He will also discuss the role which the chemical consultant community can play in this effort.
