 Introduction to Small Business Resources: How the Small Business Development Centers Can Help Your Business Grow

Abstract: The Pennsylvania SBDC provides consulting services and educational programs to entrepreneurs looking to start or grow a small business. SBDC consultants work with entrepreneurs in one-to-one sessions to help test a new business proposition, shape a business plan, or investigate funding opportunities. Addressing topics ranging from compliance issues to marketing tactics, SBDC programs serve to inform and assist entrepreneurs with the many tasks a new business owner faces. This session will provide an overview of SBDC services

Biography: M. Clyde Stoltzfus, Director, Procurement Technical Assistance Program, Small Business Development Centers, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania

Mr. Stoltzfus holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Lincoln University and a Juris Doctorate degree from The Lewis and Clark Law School. He currently manages 3 sub-agreements that provide Procurement Technical Assistance programs for 10 Southeastern Pennsylvania counties through Centers located at the Kutztown University, Lehigh University and Temple University. He is a licensed attorney in Pennsylvania and Alaska, a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Alaska Bar Association, and is a member of the Association of Small Business Development Centers and the Association of Government Marketing Assistance Specialists.

Previously, Mr. Stoltzfus was appointed by three different Governors for the State of Alaska to manage federal relations for the State’s transportation department. His twelve year tenure with the department also included contract negotiation and contract management duties, proposal development and procurement management responsibilities, and legislative and regulatory development duties. Prior to joining the State of Alaska, he owned and operated a law firm in Juneau, Alaska that specialized in contract and construction law.

Location: The Cynwyd Club, 332 Trevor Lane, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. From City Line Ave. (Route # 1) drive north on Conshohocken State Road (Route # 23) about 3 long blocks. Continue north on Trevor Lane instead of following Route #23 left. At “Y” in road one block north on Trevor Lane turn left where clubhouse and parking are on the left side of the road. Fee, including food and beverages, is $25. provided reservations are made before 6 PM Friday, February 4th; $30 if made subsequently by 10 AM Monday, February 7th. If no reservation is made by the final deadline, food and beverages will not be available unless a cancellation occurs. No-shows will be invoiced.
