Abstract
When is a forensic consultant needed and how a consultant is properly selected? Methods for checking qualifications and what qualifies someone to be a forensic expert. The engineering and scientific analysis process: How it is done, How it is used in court and putting the puzzle pieces together of a case: research, evidence, formulas, standards, etc. Junk science vs. good science will also be discussed.
Case examples will be illustrated throughout the seminar.
Biography:
David J. Schorr, PE, CEO of DJS Associates, Inc., is a board certified consultant in the areas of Accident/Collision Reconstruction and Highway Safety. Mr. Schorr has rendered qualified testimony for over 40 years at all court levels. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the National Academy of Forensic Engineers. Mr. Schorr was the former National Chairman of the Engineering Science Section of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. he is a licensed professional engineer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Florida. Mr. Schorr has been invited to be a guest lecturer at numberous bar associations acrosss the United States. He is board certified by the National Association of Forensic Engineers, as well as a diplomat in the international Institute of Forensic Engineering Sciences.
