His research extends his prior industrial experience in air sampling instrumentation development into direct gas phase detection of biological molecules, cells and spores. The specific aims of his research are: 

• Behavior of antibody-antigen interactions in gas phase
• Characterization of sensors in gas phase detection
• Transport aspects of detection in gas phase
